DOUG JACOB IS ONE OF THE CO-OWNERS OF TORO. THE RESTAURANT, WHICH DOUG HELPED BRING THE CONCEPT FROM BOSTON TO NEW YORK’S MEATPACKING DISTRICT. HE IS CURRENTLY EXPANDING THE BRAND TO OVERSEAS MARKETS, INCLUDING BANGKOK (JUNE 2016) AND DUBAI OPENING IN EARLY FALL 2016. IN 2009, DOUG CREATED A NEW MODEL OF HYBRID ADVERTISING AGENCY AND INVESTMENT VEHICLE TO CO-FOUND JWALK, A DESIGN AND BRAND DEVELOPMENT FIRM WHERE HE SITS AS CEO. OVER A SHORT TIME, DOUG HAS EXPANDED JWALK FROM A SMALL AGENCY TO A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL FIRM EXCEEDING GROWTH OF OVER 100% EACH YEAR, DRAWING IN CLIENTS LIKE BAREESCENTUALS, DELEÓN TEQUILA AND LACOSTE.

BORN IN EVANSTON, ILLINOIS, WILL MALNATI GREW UP IN A FAMILY OF RESTAURATEURS, THE OWNERS OF CHICAGO’S BELOVED PIZZA EMPIRE, LOU MALNATI’S. AS WILL WAS EXPOSED TO THE FAMILY BUSINESS FROM THE EARLIEST AGE, HE DEVELOPED A DEEP PASSION FOR HOSPITALITY. MALNATI GRADUATED FROM THE SCHOOL OF HOTEL ADMINISTRATION AT CORNELL UNIVERSITY IN 2007, AND IN THE FIVE YEARS THAT FOLLOWED MANAGED A HANDFUL OF RESTAURANTS AND NIGHTLIFE ESTABLISHMENTS IN CHICAGO AND NEW YORK. IN 2013, MALNATI PARTNERED WITH ADVERTISING GURU DOUG JACOB AND JAMES BEARD AWARD WINNING CHEFS KEN ORINGER AND JAMIE BISSONNETTE AND OPENED THE NEW YORK OUTPOST OF BOSTON'S FAMED SPANISH TAPAS RESTAURANT TORO IN NEW YORK CITY. THAT SAME YEAR, HE WAS CHOSEN FOR ZAGAT'S 30 UNDER 30, AND IN 2015, HE WAS NAMED ONE OF FORBES’ 30 UNDER 30. IN 2015, MALNATI FORMED A MEDIA COMPANY CALLED AT WILL RADIO, WHICH PRODUCES PODCASTS AND OTHER DIGITAL CONTENT FOR HIGH PROFILE HOSTS AND BRANDS.
